I get so much junk that I can't deal with the normal mail. I have a two or three year backlog. There is rarely ever anything good in my mailbox. It is all bills and junk. I had to put all the bills on autopay because I don't have time to even sort the mail.

Somehow we've been forced with the responsibility of constantly having to clean out a box of junk and we never agreed to do it. It is very intrusive having to take this unwanted junk into our homes.

The answers you've received are great. I had found solutions to the front door and the phone, but not the mail.

The no-call list works well and I just leave my phone connected to the Internet to duck the non-profit calls and the political campaign calls. Friends and family call on my cell phone.

For strangers at the front door, I have a sign that says, no solicitation, we buy nothing and we do not open the door for strangers. There is nothing to benefit the homeowner by opening the front door. Statistically it is rare to get greatly harmed in this way, but one woman was raped by a supposed student selling magazine subscriptions.

To a lesser extent, commercials are also a problem. I'm fairly confident that the food ones are adversely affecting the health of Americans and landing us with huge financial and health care burdens. What is the difference between CLOSING and CANCELLING a credit card account?

I know that no one should ever cancel a credit card, so I knew when getting my first one it was important decision because I would have it forever basically. So what exactly does it mean to CLOSE an account?? How is this better than cancelling a credit card?

And, what is the difference between formally closing an account or just having a zero balance and shreading it??

Thank you in advance for your clarification!|||It is not true that you should never cancel a card or close an account. However, it is important to have an old one that is open, so you should only close or cancel one if you have another old one.

If you have a zero balance and shred the card, but do not formally close the account, then the account remains open on the books of the bank. This means that any annual fee continues to be charged and that the account continues to be reported to credit reporting agencies. Also, if you ever want to resume using the account, you can have a new card sent without reapplying.|||Why shouldn't you cancel a credit card? That is the first thing I would do if my purse was stolen or I had lost my card. Although my card has been cancelled, the account is still open at the bank unless I choose to close it.|||If an account is closed, then you can't charge anything on it again.

If it simply has zero balance, then you (or an identity thief) can run up a balance.

It seems that society views us only as a potential source of money. Cable, dish, high speed internet, credit card and refinance letters are the worst.

Uses the money straight from your bank account and if you sell puts the money in your bank account. Safe and easy .

I think ebay actually owns paypal, not too sure .

https://www.paypal.com/|||If you do not have a credit card, I suggest using a prepaid debit card. I have been selling on ebay for 2 years with out a credit card or bank account. Use paypal to collect your money, then attach your prepaid debit card to it and be able to pay for your items and transfer your money to and from your paypal account. I use netspend as my prepaid card provider and they are very good. Check them out at netspend.com.

If you need some tips and ideas on selling on eBay, I just bought this book that is pretty good on the subject. Its only $15 and you can get it at makemoneyonebaytoo.com|||If you have a checking account, you can use the debit card to open your ebay account. I do the same. It works just fine. You can also use Paypal to pay for your ebay purchases and fees. Paypal allows you to chose to have funds deducted from your debit card, electronic checking deduction or e-check (That one takes too long.). So the only way you can get started on eBay is to have a checking account.

Ebay owns Paypal, so those two sites are closely interlinked. Ebay used to allow money orders, cash and checks in the past and got rid of these options which only drove potential buyers away. It's stupid. However some sellers do still accept those payment options. You just have to ask them via message privately. I still do if they ask me.

How do get my credit card debt to zero?

I had left USA around 4 years back as I could not get a job(software). When I left I had credit card debt. Now i want to be back and normalize my debt. I currently dont have a job. I checked my credit report on the internet but confused with the terms. Its certain that collection agency must be trying to locate me. I cant figure out my current debt, thats when I left and now(including interest?). I need help in how to take the first step and how its going to affect my job-hunt.|||If you get a copy of your credit report, it will show you how much you owe on your card(s). Depending on how long ago you defaulted, it may be better to *not* pay it off and just wait out the debt. Most debt will clear 7 years after the last reporting. I would recommend going to a site like http://www.truecredit.com, it should also help you with the terms.|||Contact a credit counseling agency. Contact the credit card companies. And start paying a small amount to the company. Even if its only $10. It shows good faith.|||You are right to want to take the first step. It is always better to call your creditors (the people you owe money to) than to wait for them to find you.

Since a collection agency is already involved, you need to contact them and work out a payment schedule. Here in Canada, they are prohibited from harassing you (no more than one call a week, no threats, no verbal abuse etc.). I imagine it's similar in the States. If you owe a lot of money you might consider a consolidation loan, where all your debts are paid off for you and you then repay the debt at a lower interest rate.

Your credit rating does not bounce back to good all at once, even after you have paid off the debts. It will be some time before you will be able to get credit again. And this may affect your job search - some companies do a credit check on prospective employees, as well as a criminal record search. My main advice is waste no time in dealing with your debt. The longer you wait, the more you will owe and the worse your rating will be. Good luck - I made it back to good credit but it took about six years.|||This may sound strange, but a cheap way to get started is to simply go apply for a credit card. You will most likely get turned down.

Then, when you get your refusal letter they will list the credit bureau's they referenced (usually 3 of them), and you will have 30 days to inquire about the decision to refuse you credit. You need to request a free credit report from them when you do this.

In the process, they should send you information regarding your credit history, and from that you can begin again to work on all your past bills.

Don't be in no hurry, it's going to take some time.|||cut up the cards you da.|||You should check the statute of limitations for your state. And, if you are living in a different state than the one you lived in when you incurred the debt, you should check that state also.

If you leave the country while owing a debt, in some states, the time limit for legally collecting the debt will continue to run. In other states, the time limit will stop until you return to the states (basically extending the time limit on legally collecting the debt).

I would just suggest that you go to the site that I've listed and do some reading.

What is the best way to build credit with department store credit card?

I have a Jared jewelry credit card account. I was wondering the best way to keep this active and build credit at the same time. What I have been doing is buying something within my means and making min payments to pay it off in one year. Is this good? Is it better to buy smaller things and pay off in full every month? Need help any accurate feedback is greatly needed.|||For each lender, your credit report shows the maximum that ever owed to that lender, how much you currently owe, and how many times you have paid late.

If you charge $100 and pay it off right away, that will look exactly the same on your credit report as if you charge $100 and pay it off over time (but never pay late). This will also look the same if you charge $100, pay it off, charge another $100, pay it off, charge another $100 and pay it off. It will show that the maximum you ever owed was $100, and it will show that you never paid late. It will not show that you owed $100 three different times.

The most important part is how many times you have paid late. Trying to charge up your card so that the maximum you have ever owed is higher will not make much of a difference in your score. Paying late even one time will make a big difference in your score. Paying off what you owe over time instead of paying it off immediately will make absolutely no difference in your credit score.

Stop charging your card. It will not show up on your credit report, and it will not improve your credit score. Appy for a regular credit card, and be very sure not to pay it late ever.|||It is best to make small purchases and pay them off monthly. For that reason, a Jared card is not really ideal. If you've had it at least a couple of months, I would pay it down quite a bit (in half or something), then apply for a real credit card. After you get a real credit card, pay the Jared card off completely ASAP, and start using the real credit card to make a small purchase each month (tank of gas? some groceries?). Then pay the bill of completely as soon as you get it. You'll have great credit in no time, plus you won't have to pay interest charges.|||It's best to pay it in full each month. I would try to get a Visa or Mastercard instead of a store card. That way, instead of buying things you might not need, you could use it for gas, groceries, and other everyday expenses.

If you do get another card, keep your store card open too with a zero balance, as long as there's no annual fee. That shows that more banks trust you, and you're using a smaller percentage of your available credit.|||You should always try to pay more than whatever the minimum is e.g. min. Payment of $ 15.00 you should always try to pay at least $ 20 - $ 30 or more and make the payment before the due.date e.g. $ 15.00 due on April 15, 2011 , your payment should look like this : payment date : April 12, 2011 in amount of $ 25.00 .|||Pay it off in full or keep a zero dollar balance. What is the best frequent flyer credit card for students?

I am looking for a frequent flyer credit card so I can build up some miles. With little to no annual fees etc. I am a student and don't know much about the whole frequent flyer process. Thanks all.|||Amex air miles.|||You can get a frequent flyer miles card from Many Banks. I found this site to be very useful. I hope this would help you. http://apply-credit-cards-now.info/

|||Look at it this way. Each mile you earn with your credit card spending (usually 1 mile for every dollar spent) is worth about a penny or maybe two. (Work it out, if it takes 50,000 frequent flyer miles to buy a plane ticket worth say $500 then each mile you earn is worth a penny.) If you are a student, you are probably only going to charge a few thousand dollars a year on your credit card. Let's say $5000. That means you are earning $50 a year toward a plane ticket. But guess what? The cards that earn frequent flyer miles usually have annual fees that might be $60 or $80. So you would actually be better off with a card that has no annual fee but does not give you frequent flyer miles. And if you don't pay the bill every month, the interest on credit cards will also more than kill whatever you think you are gaining in frequent flyer miles. So the whole thing is a racket, don't forget that.|||What happens is that the student is tempted to view this as "free money" since there are not dollars bills floating out of his wallet at the time of the purchase, so it almost seems like they are getting something for "play money". But make no mistake about it, there is nothing fictional about the fact that this student has just racked up some charges on that college student credit card, and it will be a taste of stark reality when he starts to get calls from the credit card issuer asking for payments to be made on time.

Not all possible and available college student credit cards are right for everyone. You should avoid one that charges an excessively high interest rate, unless you know for a fact that you will be paying it off in full at the end of the month. Keep in mind that the credit card issuers are taking a bit of a chance on you, since you probably have little or no credit history established, and therefore the interest rate on virtually ANY credit card you are approved for is going to be higher than "usual", where "usual" would be the rate that perhaps your parents would get approved for, since they already have a credit history established.

Most college students today need a car, and many of them make the mistake of tying up all of their credit cards in paying for a car. This is probably the worst possible option for buying a car, since the interest rates will be astronomical that way. It would be much better to get a separate car loan and keep your credit cards free up for things you really need. How long does it take to rebuild your credit after paying off a charged off card?

I have a credit card that has been charged off, with a balance of $850 the limit on the card was $350.Sad I know. Im working with the company to get it paid off, someone told me it would make my credit score go up from 550 to 650 in about 60 days. Does anyone know if this is true and if not about how long will it take to rebuild my credit?|||No.....a 100 point jump in a FICO score so soon after a charge-off will not happen...sorry. Debt collectors will tell you anything you want to hear to get your money from you.

- When a credit card is charged-off as bad debt, you need to understand that the damage to your credit is already done and there is no undoing it. Don’t make the mistake of simply cutting a check to whatever collection agency has the debt for the charge-off and assume that your credit rating will be magically restored...Doing so will not remove it from your credit reports. It will simply be updated to a "Paid Charge-Off," which, while slightly better, is still a seriously derogatory item. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a charge-off, whether paid or not, can remain on a consumer's credit reports for up to seven years. This does not mean that you will have bad credit for the entire 7 years though. The main damage of a charge-off will last at least two years....after that you score will start to go back up.

If you're going to pay off old-charged-off debt anyway, then you might as well negotiate the lowest, rock bottom settlement you can possibly get, being that the negative charge-off notation is going to stay for 7 years on your credit report, regardless of whether the charge-off is paid or unpaid. ...Offer 25% at start from there.

Mail them a vaguely worded statement like:

I am willing to settle this matter for 25% of the original amount. This is in no way an admission of this debt, but rather an attempt to settle this matter. Your firm must send me a written agreement on your company's letterhead that you will accept this amount as "payment in full" and that this issue will be settled. Upon receipt of this agreement, I will mail you a money order for this amount.

- Get all terms of any settlement deal you reach with debt collectors IN WRITING BEFORE you give them your money. This letter should state the settlement amount and that the account will be “paid in full” upon receipt of this amount from you. Keep the letter in a safe place. Never accept settlement deals over the phone that are not backed up in written terms. If you don’t, the debt collectors will deny that any settlement was ever made once they get your “settlement” money and will come back demanding more money from you.|||The truth of the matter is that credit related issues can be very complicated and sometimes confusing. But have a look at that site and you may get some idea :)

hope my info helped :) good luck|||this can help you to get fast loan

How are credit card transactions processed for Credits?

I returned an item to a store which I had purchased with one credit card. In the mean time I had canceled this card. When the clerk went to credit me she said she could only credit back that card, not the one I had to replace it. Was this just this stores policy, or is that just the way things are?|||Unfortunately, that is the way things are. It is common practice for companies to credit a patron in the same manner that the company was paid. There is a couple reasons for this. First, in order to process a refund, the company has to credit the money back to the same card that was used. The reason for this is so the company can get back the service charges that the credit card companies charge for their service.

The second reason, which is actually not considered by the average person is that this would be an effective method of money laundering. Someone steals someone's credit card, makes a bunch of purchases, then later returns the item to place the money on their own credit card. By crediting the same card only, this form of money laundering is prevented.|||You can visit http://www.debteraserzone.com and find very useful tips and several articles on credit card related matters.

How soon will Citi Card increase my credit card spending limit?

I have had the Visa Dividend card from Citi for a few months now. Basically, it's a student credit card. I have paid all of my bill on time. I was just wondering how soon they will increase the spending limit on that thing. One year? Two years?|||Often, as long as you have paid your bills on time, they will increase the limit as soon as you ask them. You need to call and ask them to increase the limit. Be careful though because all the credit card companies are raising the APR now. They are raising the APR's even if your credit is perfect. It is their new policy. Don't go into debt if you can help it. It is a horrible feeling.|||Most likely they won't, you can ask but unless you actually need it (and really there's no reason why you should) don't bother. They'll raise it when ever they're ready to and asking before hand probably won't do too much good. I had one through BofA and they raised my limit (doubled it actually) after about a year of perfect payments.|||After 6 months they will consider it. You can then request a limit increase online and your limit will probably be instantly increased by a certain amount. If it is done instantly, then it will count as a soft pull on your credit report instead of a hard one like most banks.|||After 6 months they will give you a credit limit if:

You are paying your bill in full each month OR

Your monthly balance never exceeds 30% of your available credit.

Also, make sure you have not been late for 6 months.

I have to ask for my credit limits.

They sometimes ask why - say you plan on taking a trip and would like to use your card for the purchaes .

Do not let them think you will be carrying a balance.

Will closing a credit card affect my credit score?

I have one credit card, and I have payed every bill on time. I even have positive credit on it. Now, today I opened a Victoria's Secret credit card. If I pay my bill off with in one week, then close the card, will it hurt my credit?|||You can use this credit monitoring service to pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of such payments - buildcredit.ifastnet.com|||Yes it will hurt your score in 2 ways.

Your score takes a 5-10 point hit just for applying for the V.S. credit card

It will take an additional 5-20 point dip for closing it.

I suggest that you wait at least 6 months before closing it. More realistically you shouldn't close it all, just keep it somewhere safe and don't use it because I'm sure there's no annual fee on it. Let the history of the card help your credit score.|||Yes. Your FICO score depends upon the average age of your accounts. Closing an older card reduces your average age. Your score also depends upon how much of your available credit you are using. With less available credit, any balance increases your percentage, lowering your score.

See http://www.myfico.com for more info.|||Closing credit affects you in 2 ways:

1. It reduces the overall available limits you have on all your credit cards.

2. You could be closing your oldest account which deletes part of your history.

Always keep that oldest card open.

Closing your VS card will not do you any good - it will still show on your reports.

And thank you for paying in full each month.

Carrying balances not only reduces your credit - in some cases it can destroy your life.

/|||Why would you open a credit card account and then close it a week later? Not smart. The credit inquiry dinged your score a few points. But closing that week old account really won't have any additional impact on your score.

Since you already opened the account, you may as well keep it open. Use the account occasionally and pay it in full. A second credit card account will help build your credit score. Just be smart enough not to carry any balances. That store card probably has a 30% interest rate.|||Yes, if you cancel the card, it will possibly affect your score because you will be limiting the amount of credit available to you.

Just put the thing in a drawer and don't use it if you just wanted it for the one time discount you got for opening it.

Do i need the credit card i bought the tickets?

I'm 17 years old I'm flying out of american airlines to dallas and then to NY. A good friend of the families bought the ticks with her card and i payed her back and all that jazz. ANyway, do i need her credit card to use the self check in?|||Nope. In order to use the self check in for AA, you need to swipe a credit card, passport, or drivers license with a magentic strip (any of these must have the passengers name) in order to proceed with check in. I'm guessing your a resident of Texas, so your drivers license should work (I could be wrong, been a long time since I lived there!) Even if you can't use the check in kiosks, you can check in with an agent. No worries.

***EDIT***

It will check you in for one way. When you check in for your return, it will issue boarding passes for all legs on the return portion of your trip. Have a good trip!|||Credit card that you paid with has nothing to do with checking in

How can i rebuild my credit, when no one will approve me for a credit card?

I have my utilities which of course help, but i have heard a credit card is the best way to rebuild credit. But with my credit being not real good, no one will approve me for a credit card. I feel like i am chasing my tail in circles.|||Orchard Bank may be able to help, they have cards for people trying to build/rebuild credit. If all else fails, you may have to open a secured credit card. How it works is that you have to put a deposit upfront to get the same amount of the deposit in a line of credit. For example, you deposit $300, your credit line's $300. The deposit doesn't cover your minimum payment or what you charge on it. The credit line can be increased by adding to the deposit periodically. Usually after paying on time and not maxing out the card, the card converts to a regular credit card and the deposit is given back. Also, you can report paying your utilities and other monthly payments like cell phone, day care, rent etc that doesn't show on your regular credit report by enrolling with a credit bureau called PRBC. Utlity bills were never considered to be useful to build credit until now. I posted the link to Orchard Bank and PRBC. PRBC will definitely help you out, I strongly suggest you check out the website.|||http://www.orchardbank4u.com

|||Try Orchard bank and make sure that your bills are paid on your credit report..|||1. Don't apply for any new cards for a while. Having too many people look into your credit brings down your scores (6 or more inquiries per year is the limit unless you are shopping for a mortgage).

2. Close some of the accounts if you have a lot (but not the old ones) since they help establish your credit history. Having too many accounts may hurt depending on what you are applying for (Mortgage)

3. Get balances down to 50% on all your accounts

4. Pay your bills on time and make more than the minimum payment required

5. MOST IMPORTANT: Pay off your current debts|||Ok you have a few options, but all are going to take time

1. Pay all your bills on time

2. If you have credit cards that are open do not close them, get the balances down to under 30% of the limit I say do not close them because a good part of your score is your debt, to credit ratio.

3. Do not keep applying for new cards each time an inquiry is made you lose approximately 5 point on you credit score.

4. If you have no cards see about a deposit card. You deposit lets say $500 for a credit card limit of $500. You still have to make ontime payments they are not taken out of your deposit. If you use the card insure you pay it off prior to the due date.

5 Stay away from Capital One the way they report your credit line actually harms you more than helps.

6. Keep paying your bills on time, as stated it takes time to build up your FICO score, as it grows getting credit will become easier.

7. If your parents have good credit they can add you to one of their cards, and they're payments will reflect on you. You do not have to use it just be piggy backed on it.|||Credit cards today are a real trap. Don't charge any more than you can pay off. The only real need for one is to rent a car, fly, or get a motel. Start by paying yourself first. 10% to you and another 10% to your church. (some one else said another 10% to charity) Live on the rest. Put part of your 10% in a Roth IRA and the other in an emergency fund. When you have 3 months expenses in the emergency fund, ask your bank for a credit card. By this time they want more of your money so they will be ready. Make sure to pay it off by the due date or your intererst rate will rise. If you have a car repair, pay for it on the card then transfer money from your account to the card before the due date

Good luck|||go to any bank and apply for a secured credit card. usually you'll have to give them a min of 300 to open it but this is a for sure way to start rebuilding credit.|||Try Orchard Bank or First Premier Bank, they are easy credit cards to get with poor credit.|||Have you tried Orchard Bank?

Also, STAY AWAY FROM FIRST PREMIER. They are worse than pond scum!!

Also, you can open a Crown Jewelers account. Everyone is approved and it will be a positive tradeline.

Last, visit my favorite website ever, www.creditboards.com/forums. They will provide you true, honest information!|||when you have bad credit, you can't be picky or choosy. I have both the First Premier and Orchard. They both serve their purpose in helping you rebuild your credit. But make sure you pay on time. Once your credit is good enough to qualify for a no annual fee card, then you can dump these high fee cards. Read more from: http://www.credit-card-forums.com/thread鈥?/a>

Is it risky to give out credit card and other personal info for Internet ads offering something for free?

I get lots of marketing emails offering "free" products but then they ask for personal information such as credit card info so that they can deduct a minimal shipping and handling fee. Is this some kind of scam? Some of them tell you you have to sign up for one or two offers from a list of about 2 dozen in order to get the "free" item. Isn't this unfair marketing or illegal? I get these emails all the time and after I start filling in the required information I realize I'm getting taken because they want your personal information and try to make it seem innocent by telling you they have to collect a S %26amp; H fee.|||Yes they are scams, as well as spams. As you have guessed, they attempt to lure you for your identity. Without having a proper disclaimer, they nowhere state that your personal information can be kept safe. The golden rule is "Never give out personal information, social security number, credit card number, or any password unless you trust them 100%"|||Dont ever give your number out to anyone on line is your safest bet it is pretty safe to pay bills on line dont go to a link on a email and give that info out. If it is someone you do business with go to there site through your address bar|||It is very risky.. don't do it.|||Yes, these are scams. Usually they want you to chose 1 o 2 of their sponsors and then they charge your credit card. I had a charge on my credit card for long distance on my phone bill, I had to call and cancel. They took it off but I didn't realize I had even checked anything. It was for around $25.00, so be careful and just delete things such as this. I was always told that if it sounds to good to be true that it usually is, so buyer beware!

What are the chances of me getting a business credit card?

Hi, I am about to start a small business and was wondering if I would be able to get a business credit card. Would a bank approve a credit card for a small business that does not have any credit history and if so what would the limit on the card be? My personal credit score is 720 and my business partners is around 690 if that makes a difference. Thanks|||Not in the beginning. Everyone uses their personal card to get started. After 1 year, you will receive at least one letter per week begging you to accept one of their business cards.|||Only if you have a really sound and viable business plan. But even then I still doubt it due to the state of the economy. Credit is VERY tight these days. I actually just had my credit limit on my personal card reduced by $3,400 even though I have never been late on a payment nor was I close to being maxed out on my credit card. Now, thanks to that, it looks like I AM close to being maxed out, which is probably going to lower my credit score.

How do banks go about accepting credit card checks for a loan payment?

Will they take a credit card check for a loan payment?|||If the loan and the credit card were issued by the same bank, e.g., you used a Wells Fargo credit-card check to pay on a Wells Fargo car loan, then the answer is probably no. I don't know any credit-card issuer that would accept its own credit-card checks for payment on anything. You always have the option of depositing the credit-card check in your bank account, then issuing a personal check to pay on the loan.|||YOU can pay your loan any way you can the banks don't care its you who will have a high interest rate but if that is the only you can pay it this month then do it. Also if you cant make a loan payment for a month if you call the bank and you have always been on time they will defer it and add it to the end of your loan. hope this helps .|||sure they love those checks.

don't do it. you are better off not making loan payment.|||Sure. They do not care it is costing 30% interest to pay down a 6% loan

What are the risks of gifting my parents a credit card?

I got myself two credit cards recently and I'm planning to give one to my parents who live abroad. Can anyone suggest me the precautions that I should advise my parents to take when using it. It is the first time they will be using a credit card. Thanks in advance.|||Don't. Maybe I'm jaded. I don't know.

But while I was enlisted, I added my mother to my checking account to pay my bills. Apparently my bills included her every whim, because I came home flat broke.

Your credit, your money, your life. Don't trust anybody.|||They must pay in full each month for what they spend.

Carrying balances can easily destroy your credit.

Why don't your parents just open a checking account and learn how to use a debit card instead? If they have never used a credit card before you are asking for serious danger to your credit reports if they are not good with money. (sounds like they are not good with money right now, I would not do this at all).|||I've said it before and I'll say it again, never co-sign for friends or family members because in most cases, the account is not paid on time and by the time you find out about it, the damage was done.|||I hope you're independently wealthy. What secured credit card reports to all 3 credit bureaus?

I can not get a unsecured credit card without paying ridiculous fees that are more than 50% of my credit limit and need to build my credit so I thought if I got a secured credit card but want to make sure that it reports to all 3 does anyone know of one that reports to all 3 and wont rip me off?|||First Premier, Orchard Bank, H.S.B.C. and Capital One all report to all three bureaus and offer secured credit cards.|||A secured credit card through a bank always reports to the agencies that bank works with. Just call your local banks %26amp; ask which agencies they report to.

Why Did The Credit Card Company Give Me A Bigger Credit Limit Than I Asked For?

I got my first credit card two and a half years ago. I've made every payment in full and on time. My debt-to-credit ratio is 19%. I'm planning a long trip overseas and thought a second card would come in handy. I applied for one and asked for a credit limit of $500.00. They gave me a card with a $3,000.00 limit. Does this mean I have a good credit rating?|||All credit cards companies do that if you pay your bill in a timely manner. It's their way to encourage you to charge more.|||There is no mistake.

You have top notch credit - you go girl.

By paying in full each month you not only get amazing ratings - you never pay interest.

How do ppl use a stolen credit card without their pin number?

I dont understand, people lose their credit card and say it has been used in places such as walmart or the gas station. How do they use it if they do not know the pink number? Do they guess until they get it right?|||When was the last time you had to use a pin number in order to charge something to your credit card? The only time you need your pin number is when you're trying to withdraw cash from an ATM.|||How do ppl use a stolen credit card without their pin number?

I dont understand, people lose their credit card and say it has been used in places such as walmart or the gas station. How do they use it if they do not know the pink number? Do they guess until they get it right?|||If U R from India %26amp; U possess a credit card ud know that we do not use a pin for routine transections but only for accessing our account over the phone.

In other countries, they use a pin but I guess it can be hacked or something.|||There is no pin for a credit card. Perhaps an ID or a signature. The pin is for debit cards not credit cards.|||They just sign it, no pin # needed!

How do you create a counterfeit credit card?

TO THE YAHOO CENSORS: I am not asking this question because I want to learn how to do it. I am asking this question because somehow, someone obtained or created a counterfeit credit card for my account and put fraudulent charges on the account. I want to know how it is done for the purpose of protecting myself in the future and educating others for their protection. Stop being such a##holes, Yahoo censors.|||The people who copied your card just need to swipe your card to attain your information. A common way that this occurs is when you pay for some service or product and the person who takes your card for payment swipes a device on their person or under a counter and it copies your information. They usually sell this information, but whoever uses that information to make a card can either take a card and overwrite the information with the proper equipment, or if they are really advanced, punch their own card from plastic. Another way that this occurs is they steal your mail, and request a new card in your name but to a different address.|||It's easy, but I need to see a picture of your credit card to explain it to you.|||Just call yourself the Federal Reserve and you can counterfeit all the money you want.|||I don't know

Would a bank approve a credit card for a small business that does not have any credit history and if so what would the limit on the card be? My personal credit score is 720 and my business partners is around 690 if that makes a difference. Thanks|||If you are running a business as a company then they will not give you a card based on your score. If your business has a bank account the bank may give you a credit card based on your balance and activity. You need to go to your bank first and sell them the idea of your business, have a business plan and some market research to show you have thought this through, then you might get lucky.|||I was able to get a business credit for my second business recently without too much difficulty. My credit score is higher and I had been in business for about 8 months with no revenue as yet. The credit card company is going to base a lot of their decision on your personal financial information including obviously your credit score. I am not sure where the cut-off is. In other words at 720 or 690 they may want to see more information then basic personal information. Also, this will differ by credit card company. Try a couple (not too many as this will lower your credit score) and see what you can get. In the mean time use your personal card and have the company reimburse you.

How can I get someone to pay with a credit card without a creditcard machine?

What are all these other credit card offers I get in the mail?

It seems after establishing good credit companies like chase want you to use their card. What is the difference between the bank card and company brand cards? What am I better off with?|||What you need to do is OPT out of receiving such offers. And an application sent to you in the mail is no guarantee you will get a loan with any company right now. Yes, even with excellent credit.|||Your not stay with the bank anyways it may be a con!|||Thats the old money machine rolling.

Your better off with whatever rate is better, or if your interested in incentives (like free air travel points, free grocery money bonus etc), just go with the one you like the best. Try not to get too many credit cards, 2 cards is fine for most people in order to build and maintain their credit.

It doesn`t matter if it`s through a bank or anywhere else, if it`s Visa or Mastercard, it`s all going back to them. The bank is just like a facilitator.

http://www.cardoffers.com/partners/links鈥?/a>|||Instead of transferring the balance to another credit card, you can consolidate the credit card debts.

Consolidation is the best solution available to the credit cardholders to improve their future credit. People go for debt consolidation for many reasons: prolonging the loan period from 5 - 15 years and reducing the interest rate. Consolidation allows you to go for a loan with lower interest rate than the one you are currently paying. Besides it simplifies the loan repayment as you are paying only one lender in place of various payments to different lenders.

http://debt-trap.com/category/Credit-Car鈥?/a>|||Consolidation is a great way to make it easier for you to maintain debt. You can consolidate with a consolidation company or by yourself with different and new credit cards. The consolidation companies are usually expensive and have really ugly rates, but make the minimum payments low, so that you feel like you're prudent. I recommend a technique in the book here http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a> called credit arbitrage (technique #10) as a way to consolidate and really save money. It'll take a little more initiative on your part, but you'll save a lot of money!

How can you order something online without a credit card?

I want to order something online. Is there a way you can order something without a credit card? I don't want to ask my parents because they will say say no. They always say no. A few months ago I used their credit card, but I didn't get caught. When the credit card records came, I blamed it on the item they bought a few days ago.
