How do i pay off my credit card before the bill comes?

Sorry...I am new to the credit card thing. Im just wondering how do i pay off my credit card balance before the bill or statement comes? Do I just go to a bank and tell them I want to pay off my credit card but the bill hasn't come yet, for example. And how many days do i have to pay off my credit card balance after the statement comes? Thanks|||Many credit card companies accept on line payments. If yours does - just go on line and make a payment.

You can also just write a check and drop it in the mail. Be sure to put your account number on it and send it to the correct address. Just take the address off one of your prior statements.

Some credit card companies will also do phone payments. You can call in and pay using your debit card.|||online or call... you last staement should have webb address|||Most credit cards allow you to check your current balance online. I always pay mine off almost as soon as I charge something through online banking.

You usually have 30 days to pay off your charges.|||Just call them.|||call or go on line and pay!|||If you don't have online access to your credit card account, you would need to call customer service. They'll be able to tell you the current balance, the statement balance as of the last statement, and the minimum payment due, along with the payment address.

However, they won't be able to tell you how much will be required to pay your balance in full for a statement cycle ending in the future. It's important that your payment not reach them until the cycle end date has occurred, otherwise your payment won't count towards the minimum payment due, so you could wind up with a late fee if you have any balance due.

Example: You have $200 current balance on your credit card as of July 2. Suppose the statement cycle end date is July 10. You send in $200 today, which credits to your account on July 8. Between now and July 10, you charge another $50 on your account.

The bill comes, and only $50 is due, You think you're fine, because you already paid $200 towards this bill, and the minimum payment due is only $10, so you don't bother to send another payment for this month. Wrong! You'll be charged a late fee because you didn't have a payment that was credited for the statement period going from July 11 through August 10.

If you'd waited a few more days to send your payment in, so it was credited on or after July 11 (assuming you'd already taken care of the preceding month's bill), this wouldn't be a problem. You'd have paid $200 and you'd still owe the $50, but there wouldn't be a late fee. It's all in the timing.|||Online is the best way to go. Hopefully you credit card has online bill pay. Just punch in your bank info and you're set.
